RL GRIME

RL Grime has risen the ranks to the forefront of American dance music, spearheading the nascent ‘trap’ genre. Incorporating lean, sharp Dirty South hip-hop into high-energy club music, trap took off in 2012, catching the ear of everyone from Glasweigan wünderkid Hudson Mohawke to rap superstars like Kanye West and Kendrick Lamar; the latter who RL Grime supported on his NYE show. RL Grime’s debut EP “Grapes” was released in April 2012, followed with the international club anthem “Trap On Acid”, and immediately garnered the support of DJ heavweights such as Diplo and A-Trak.

RL Grime has remained highly active since his rise to prominence, collaborating with Baauer; playing across the United States and releasing an unerring slew of remixes – both official and unofficial – and original productions. His first official release, a typically trap remix of Benny Benassi’s classic ‘Satisfaction’, topped the Beatport charts at the end of 2012. His follow-up EP High Beams was released in July 2013 on Fool’s Gold Records, which debuted at #8 on Billboard’s Dance/Electronic albums, and #1 on iTunes Electronic Charts.
