SPACE DIMENSION CONTROLLER (R&S/Clone)
Space Dimension Controller first hit our radar in 2009 when the then 19-year-old released his debut 12″ ‘The Love Quadrant’. The track was described as “one of the most distinctive and compelling debuts of 2009“, earnt a place in FACT’s Top 100 Tracks of that year, and firmly put Belfast-dweller Jack Hamill on the map.
With a dedicated affinity towards dusty old pieces of rare and often forgotten hardware, Space Dimension Controller has created an intoxicating blend of detroit techno, p-funk, acid house and disco which can best be described as Galactic Funk. His recent album Road to Tiraquon (on the influential R&S record label) was one of the most critically acclaimed LPs of the year, and further releases for the likes of Clone have helped cement the reputation of this Red Bull Music Academy graduate.
Check out his set from the Boiler Room to give you an idea of what to expect from the man who also likes to call himself ‘Mr. 8040’:
